Aadhaar card though is very effective, it had some correction issues. Some people have got their names wrong and some have changed their addresses with respect to their aadhaar noted ones.

To change your Aadhaar card details is a basic necessity. It is because that you need this Aadhaar card for every basic entity. Now you can change your Aadhaar card details within a few minutes by just logging in into your Aadhaar account. You need to have your registered mobile number with you to login though. Steps to Change Aadhaar Address

To change your Aadhaar address, here are a simple steps you need to follow.

Changing Aadhaar Card address

  1. Visit the UIDAI website

    Go to UIDAI website to login to your Aadhaar account. Open the UIDAI website to login into your Aadhaar account

  2. Click on Update your Address online

    In the my aadhaar page you will find update aadhaar section. In that section click on Update your Address online option available. Click on Update your address online to update Aadhaar card address

  3. Tap on Update Address

    You will find two options. Select the Update address option if you have a valid address proof. Or else, click on request validation option available. Click on Update address to update your Aadhaar address

  4. Enter your Aadhaar card number

    Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar card number in the aadhaar card number section and validate the text below it. Enter your Aadhaar card number

  5. Select Send OTP

    Tap on the Send OTP option and enter the OTP received to your registered mobile number. Tap on send otp to receive your OTP and login into Aadhaar account

  6. Enter OTP to Login

    Enter the received OTP to login into your Aadhaar account. Enter the OTP received to login to your Aadhaar account

  7. Tick the Address option

  8. Enter your residential address

    Type in your Residential address same as in the Proof of address and click on the “Submit Update request” option.

  9. Click Modify

    Click the Modify option in the case if you want to modify your address.

  10. Tap on Proceed

    Tick mark the declaration and then tap on proceed to process your request.

  11. Select the document for PoA

    Select the document you want to provide to the UIDAI as the proof of address(PoA) for verification. Upload the scanned copy of it and click on the Submit option. Select the POA file and upload the document to change your Aadhaar card address

  12. Select the BPO service provider

    Click on YES and select the BPO service provider option. The BPO service provider will verify your details. Select the BPO service to verify and update your Aadhaar card address

  13. Click on Submit

    Tap on Submit. The BPO service provider will interact with you to verify your details and process the request to the UIDAI. Click on submit to change your Aadhaar card address


Your update request will be accepted and an Acknowledgement slip will be provided to you. The Acknowledgement Slip contains the Update Request number (URN). Once updated, you can download the updated version and get your Aadhaar card print out.
