But, texting can be boring if we were to go back to the time before the smartphones when we had to press buttons several times before we got the right one. Directly reply from notifications

iPhone new models come with 3D Touch, and this feature lets you hold your screen with varying finger pressure to access more options. This 3D Touch feature enables you to reply to a message without having to open the Messages app.

Press hard on the lock-screen text notification to respond. It is an excellent feature as it saves your time during rush hours when the message needs an immediate response.

Quick replies

There are a few messages that don’t need a response through words. iPhone has the feature on the hovered page for quick replies such as “heart”, or “like.” This hack will spare you the hard work of scanning the bulletin of emojis for just the right one. Block the annoying messages

Everyone gets spam messages or messages from the ones who are annoying. We can’t stop their messages, but we can avoid them. Simply block them. iPhone’s feature of Block Contact helps us silence them into our accordance. Follow this simple step to block a contact.


Go to the text conversation, tap the “i” icon on the top-right. Then tap the name or number at the tap. Select Block this Caller, then Block Contact to confirm. The plus point of this feature is that you always have the option to unblock the contact later.

Mute group messages

The group message notification is another annoying part of texting. Group message can be fun but not always. The notification alert can get irritating.

To stop this notification from popping up on your phone, mute the alerts on your iPhone.
To mute the notification of a group message, swipe left on the Group Message. Tap Hide Alerts. A round icon appears on the left side of the group to indicate that it’s muted.

Share location

‘Share Location’ is another great feature on the iPhone. Share location has many benefits as it gives you an idea to your friend’s house, parties’ destination, and so on.


To share your location, go to Messages app. Open the conversation with the one you want to share the location. Tap the little “i” icon in the top-right corner of your screen. To send your current location to the contact, tap ‘Send My Current Location‘. To send a regular update about your location, you can tap Share My Location.

Hide notification previews

Not all conversations can get shared with everyone and text notifications pop up gives a gateway to prying eyes. The feature of turning off of the text previews comes handy.

To turn off the preview, Go to Settings > Notifications > Messages and scroll down to Show Previews. Select either ‘When Unlocked’ or ‘Never’. Keep alerts enabled if you need as it will only show the sender’s name and no message preview with this setting.
